Hello fellow Hoffmanites! May the Gorts be with you!

My niece wants to make a digital slideshow for her sisters wedding. Does Windows or Apple have a video editing program in their systems that she could do this with? Any input would be appreciated as always.

  3. PowerPoint is a fairly easy program to do this with and is available on both Windows and Apple PCs.

An alternative to a "slide show" would be to create a photo library of all the pics she would like to be shown and use an appletv with it's screen saving random show process to display them. We have our photos set up like this in our home and everyone who sees them is mesmerized.

A more time consuming and ambitious approach would be to use software like Muvee.

You can produce some really great stuff with this program...

I used power point to compile a slideshow of photos for a going away party and it was surprisingly easy to use. I was frankly amazed.

PowerPoint is pretty bad for syncing audio woth the pictures though. Better to use a dedicated program like DVD Slideshow Pro.

Can you provide a link to their website? Thanks!

Meant to come back and do that, and forgot. Here it is: DVD Photo Slideshow

The coolest thing about the program is that you can start with a soundtrack and see the waveform, sliding the start and end points of the pictures to fit the music. It is also very easy to do motion moves on still images (aka the "Ken Burns effect").

Here's a video my wife made using it:

Thank you. Looks like a nice program. Here is a quick one I made up for my niece to sample.
