    Help with PP&M's "A' Soulin'"

    Hi Folks,
Right before Christmas, I heard a "dry" version of Peter, Paul and Mary's "A' Soulin'" from their (Moving) album on the radio. It had no surface noise I could detect, but sounded like the original vinyl mix (as opposed to the current "wet" mix currently avilable on CD). Anyone know where I can get that "dry" mix on CD?

    Thanks,
    the other Wes

Most likely they used a TM Century disc.

The "Dry" PP&M songs are the ORIGINAL stereo mixes.

The remixes for CD are very wet. I don't like them at all. (How's that for being blunt?)

Try and find some original Gold label Warner Bros. LP pressings, cut at Radio Recorders by Ami Hadani. You won't be disappointed!

Yes, buy the original WB LP pressings

None of the original "dry" LP mixes are available on CD, unfortunately. PPM keep pretty tight control over their catalog, and Peter Yarrow himself supervised the "wet" remixes that are now heard on the CDs.

    Thanks All,
I have a pretty good Canadian "gold label" stereo pressing, and a minty USA "grey label" mono pressing. My turntable's sick at the moment, though.
Hey Bradley, what's a TM Century disc?

    Thanks,

TM Century is a company that services music to radio stations nationwide in the form of compilations. You can check their site out at www.tmcentury.com and that info on their compilations, etc.
