    Phil,
If Janie had decided to choke off more releases of unreleased material, then what would have been the point of her mentioning the upcoming Anthology project, the Miami Pop Festival '68 DVD, the CD/DVD releases of Royal Albert Hall '69 recently?

    I've got problems (2)!

    I'm a audiophile:
If this isn't released lossless, I'll lose it! :thumbsdn:
    I'm a videophile:
I've not been impressed w/the PQ of any EH release. :thumbsdn:

[I am a fan of Sony BD's from about '08 too present tho. Butt, since this is already "done" I'm figuring an EH blotched job. Non-OAR & non-remastered (certainly not 4K)]

I don't have an 8 track player. Will I be able to play it when it comes out?

Even though I've nearly lost all hope of this being released, it's good to know all the raw footage seems to have survived intact.

What's the current status of Royal Albert Hall? I assume there is some sort of legal issue since this never came out?

And weren't the RAH tracks pulled off the upcoming "In the West" reissue?

I think that the last we heard was that the film's producer Jerry Goldstein was still holding things back because of his insistance in creartive and royalty issues.
He is also facing a huge lawsuit from Sly Stone so he might be deliberately throwing a spanner in the works until that blows over. If he loses against Sly he would need cash, so that might be when he lets RAH go ahead.
It is because of all this stalling that EH decided to give us Winterland and In The West as a compensation.

What's the story on this film footage? Was it ever edited and shown publicly back in the day? Or has it laid in storage all these years?

I do too. Isn't it amazing that it's never been released officially in over 40 years? :shh:

It did get a couple of screenings but I don't know why it disappeared without a trace for so long. A rough hewn amateur edit circulated first on video cassette in 80s then more recently on DVD. It's such a shame that it has been blocked like this.

I am glad I was able to at least get the Charly "Last Experience" set. I think after all the delays, another release of the RAH concert seems doubtful at best.

You live by my favorite place on the plant for wine grapes!
    (well, closer than me)
    The Rhone.
Grenache, Syrah, Mourvèdre and Cinsaut for black.
Viognier, Roussanne and Marsanne for white.
Out here in Cali, those that promote Rhone Varietals are called "Rhone Rangers".

Enjoy a stroll on the "Street of Thirst",
