    It appears to be "autographed"

The signature does look an awful lot like the ones I can find online.

I think people are getting suckered into thinking that the LP cover has been autographed by Jimi. Although it is not mentioned in the description, someone autographed the LP front cover. My guess is it is not really Jimi's real signature.

Hard to say. Could be a steal for someone willing to pay for an unauthenticated signature.

Ah didn't notice that at first. Probably not legit. I certainly wouldn't take a chance on it for that kind of money.

If it seems too good to be true, it probably is.

Looking at his other items on eBay, he seems to have a unique business model: show photographs of a lot of items that appear to be autographed by the artist, but don't make any mention of the autograph in the item listing... In fact make a generic statement disavowing any knowledge of the provenance of the item. Let people assume what they want to.

This guy may be the greatest genius in the history of eBay.

Stay tuned for my auctions of Beatles #1 autographed by John, Paul, George and Ringo.

Authentic Hendrix signatures go for over $5000. If the seller has any sense they'll pull the auction and get it checked out. If it's a scam like pscreed says it is he won't.

You figured out that seller's mode of operation!! Pretty funny, but he seems to sell a lot of stuff that way.

He just also sold a Rubber Soul CD "signed" by Paul, George, and Ringo:

    http://www.ebay.com/itm/THE-BEATLES-RUBBER-SOUL-CD-george-harrison-/141813320932?nma=true&si=oqEnYSBYGJqtT5oNAZlqiuLxNWM%3D&orig_cvip=true&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2557

No way is that legit!!! But he says, "I DO NOT KNOW THE DETAILS OF EACH ITEM'S HISTORY. I apologize for any inconvenience this may cause." That covers his a$$.

It would have been funny if the CD had Lennon's signature too. I'm sure someone wouldn't have thought that through and overpaid for it.

It would be awfully inconvenient if eBay closed his account for fraud.

Hahaha, what a racket. Everything this guy sells is signed but he conveniently has no details on anything and also no mention of signatures in the description. "Oh , is it signed? Gee I hadn't even noticed." Hahaha. PT Barnum would be proud.

The fact that it's not mentioned anywhere + the CYA "I do not know the history of these" seems like this guy knows exactly what he's doing.

Makes me wonder if there's some 21st century tech to take a signature, scan it and then be able to recreate it via some automated writing tool so it looks really close to the real thing.

... And the list goes on. Notice that the description says "w some writing..." in every single case. He obviously doesn't want to even write "looks autographed", because he is afraid of getting busted.

But his genius is that he never says anything about the items being autographed. And he is very careful to be extremely accurate in his grading. He is absolutely honest when it comes to that.

This cracks me up: The description for the Jimi LP says: "COVER IS VG+ w some writing ."

Yep, there does seem to be "some writing" there... ;)

I think willful deception could be proven in court. His eBay history shows a clear track record of extremely high prices for common items that just so happen to have writing on them.
