Wasn't the artwork for these more of a tan color? This one looks awfully white.

I would stay far away from this one -- just from the photo, it looks like a counterfeit to me. The color of the original CD booklet is indeed an off-white that is closer to yellow. Also note the description says that the CD is a picture disc.

The picture itself it very bright. The white color of the booklet could just be a result of the brightness (flash?).

By picture disc, maybe he means that the disc has a nice design. Consider that English may not be the seller's first language.

I asked him to post a picture of the disc.

English may not be his first language, but the zero feedback, the impossibly rare items, the odd color of the disc and consider the following:

The 32DP discs are generally found with white trays. The Final Cut 32DP looks like a white tray, but the WYWH and Animals 32DP's look like black trays.

I have never seen a 35DP pressing in a white tray. The Seller's Final Cut 35DP appears to have a white tray.

The cases look wrong as well. The older CBS/Sony pressings usually have two 1" tabs on the right edge to hold the booklet in place. It's hard to tell from the pictures, but they seem to be different cases.

These could be replacement cases, but in my experience, when someone has well-preserved obis, the items are generally accompanied by the original cases, since the owner just took care of the item.

I am going to wait to see if he posts pictures of the discs. If not, I am not bidding, even though I would love to have a couple of those.

add to the other facts...the postal service in Italy is appallingly bad and you'd be lucky to ever receive said items.

Mark this down to fake items now with fake OBIs.:shake:

  11. Take a look at the 2 different Wish You Were Here pictures: They're identical except for OBI and Compact Disc logo on the 35DP 4. Something smells fishy...

    Photoshop?

  13. The Compact Disc logo is too small. It seems like a photoshop job, maybe he just stole the picture somewhere and created his own image, without even owning the CD. He doesn't even take PayPal.

Here's a picture of the original:

I sent the seller a message, asking him to post a picture of the 35DP-4. His response is below. All I can say is, I am not aware of any pre-release picture CD, and I am not about to bid.

"I'm sorry, i'm out of town at the moment, however is a picture cd, (extremely rare pre-release of the one without images). Regards.

It was only a matter of time before fakes start showing up. Look at the money people made with the Abbey Roads.

Ask him if it has pre-emphasis - the original 2-track version does have PE.

It's been pulled. Mind you if you look closely it seems that the compact disc looks like a label. Slight overlay at the bottom and also faint signs of a line at the top.

His other stuff is still there, maybe some poor sod has made him a very large BIN offer!

No, eBay pulled it. If the seller had pulled it himself, it would say so on the auction page, with the reason why.

I thought ebay usually take about 24hrs to respond to reports on listings? they must be having a quiet night!

Sometimes they're very quick, but many times they don't seem to act at all...
