The book is not attached to the package - you should be able to slide it out of the middle panel of the digipak, which is open on either side.

In fact, tracks 19-29 on the first disc of this new set consist of the entire "There's a Kind of Hush All Over The World" album in order.

You misunderstand. I'm liking the 2-disc "best of" format. I just wish the contents were presented in some kind of orderly flow (either by record date or release date). Instead we get tracks from album 1 (Herman's Hermits) on disc 1; tracks from album 2 (On Tour) on disc 2; tracks from album 3 (Hold On) on disc 1; tracks from album 4 (Both Sides) split amongst the two discs; the complete album 5 (Hush) album on disc 1; and tracks from album 6 (Blaze) on disc 2. Each disc is roughly chronological itself and covers the years 1964-1970. So what determined placement on disc 1 or disc 2? Just trying to figure out the method to their madness...after giving it a cursory view.

I received this in the mail a couple of days ago and am just listening to it tonight. Wow, I absolutely love this set!!! I love the extended endings especially on "No Milk Today", love that it goes on for 40 seconds or more.

I'm surprised I'm enjoying the remixes as much as I am on this set. It really sounds like your in the studio with the band much more than before. Peter Noone's vocal on " My Sentimental Friend" really sounds like he's standing at the mike in front of you.

And "Saturdays Child" really struck me as more of a cross between The Monkees and The Hollies in this remix than ever before.

Superb! I want more remixes like this of other British Invasion bands!!!!

  10. It's a spectacular set, one of the best Bear Family has put out in recent memory.

Anyone having issues with the extended length of each CD? That's the only thing stopping me from buying!

  12. I was worried about that as well but both CDs played fine in my players.

I've not yet encountered an issue with any of Bear Family's 90-minute discs.

I think both albums have a nice flow which makes listening to them very enjoyable. You won't get that kind of flow with a chronological running order.
For me a chronologial order also ruins lots of "Anthologies". Especially when you prefer a certain period of the artist's work. In the end you only listen to one cd of a set.

Neither have I. The quality of the player has a lot to do with how 90 minute CDs play.

No problems here. I've played it on two different CD players at home, my car CD player, and also ripped them successfully on my PC.

The reason why some might have problems is that the original CD spec only allowed for 74 minutes max which made sense in the early CD era as a huge portion of those players max out playing back CDs well if they are beyond 74 minutes.

I was worried since I had some trouble with the George Jones discs, but I'm happy to say no trouble at all. I still would prefer they stay under 80 minutes

  19. I actually had the last tracks on disc 1 skip repeatedly on my Rotel Single Dvd/Cd player from 2002. Old but not a cheap unit. Will try my car and iMac later.

Ron did many more of these British Invasion collections back in the early 90's for EMI. Including The Hollies,Gerry & The Pacemakers & Billy J Kramer. Check out the old EMI British Invasion
    series...you'll find more like this...
