First time I heard Hey Jude I was in the back seat of my parent's car with out of town relatives sitting in the front seat. I had no idea that the local station was about to play Hey Jude for the first time. I was mesmerized by how good it was to the point that I had to tell my family to "shut up" so I could hear it all the way through. I think it ranks
as one of the Beatles' finest moments.

The first time I heard "You Cant Always Get..." I thought how much better the A side was. Still do.

"Helter" vs. "Devil" was easy - this one? Not so much.

Gave it to the Stones by the narrowest of narrow margins...

    Both have been grossly overplayed.

You should try Monkey Man vs. Everybody's Got Something To Hide Except Me And My Monkey

Can't stand that awful choir on the LP version of You Can't Always Get What You Want. The single version is much more listenable. I do love Keith's guitar playing on the live version from the Ladies and Gentlemen DVD.

    Hey Jude by a mile.

"Monkey" in the title - another example of the Stones ripping off the Beatles!

If you are talking about the solo in You Can't Always Get What You Want on Ladies and Gentlemen, Mick Taylor plays it not Keith.

Ja. I could do without hearing "Hey Jude"-nothing wrong with the song, really, I've just heard it many many many many times. When it comes on, I'm not even really listening to it. "You Can't…" is not quite as worn out for me, but nearly so.

I'm sick of both, but less sick of the Stones' song.

I would've chose Hey Jude, but I've heard it way too much.
    So my vote is
You Can't Always Get What You Want.

You can't always get what you want - Better Lyrics
    Hey Jude - Better Melody

The lyrics in you can't always get what you want speak to me more. If it wasn't for the nananana in hey jude it would of went to the stones. Of coarse not saying one is better than the other. Just saying one speaks to me more and that would be Hey Jude. For me the melody in Hey Jude does something that the lyrics in YCAGWYW can't.

No, not the lead, that simple capo'd open tuning groove that Keith locks right in to from the beginning. Nobody does that stuff like Keith!

Haha Beer vs. Wine my friend! I would say the stones are beer and Beatles are wine. You need both!
