  4. Two great songs but I give the edge to "Hey Jude" but its really tough. I give the edge to "Celluloid Heroes". What it's not included?

McCartney has played Hey Jude too much towards the end of his concerts (not again)
    Has ruined it for me.

You Can't Always Get What You Want...

Always thought Hey Jude was way overrated. Don't mistake me though, the Beatles are my absolute favorite band. I just always thought that Hey Jude was NOT the greatest song that they recorded. It's the song that almost everybody thinks of when they think of the Beatles.

Here's a list of Beatles songs that are so much better then Hey Jude

    Nowhere Man
    In My Life
    Girl
    I'm a Loser
    + about 100 others

That is how I feel about Hey Jude

If you haven't guessed already, Rubber Soul is my personal favorite Beatles album

I voted for "Hey Jude" and then thought of the part near the very end of the Stones' song when the drums go to double time. I love that.

Actually, "Hey Jude" does that, too, though it's barely noticeable just prior to the fade. Hmm. This is hard.

Honestly, I can't stand either one these days. "Hey Jude" gets on my nerves for the refrain going on for TOO long (solely because The Beatles were going for longest song released as a single, but c'mon...anybody could just repeat the same refrain of anything for 5 minutes, don't show range or change during that...just drone on and on etc.) and "YCAGWYW" has some of the weakest lyrics ever committed to a Stones record. That ending is pure killer, though. Can't get enough of the choir and Jimmy Miller freaking out on the drums.

You Can't Always Get What You Want, but unlike the last thread, I can understand The Beatles winning out.

    YCAGWYW is a great song.

Hey Jude is among the greatest songs ever.

    Some things to look at:

    1) Its one of the songs, if someone says "Paul can't write lyrics", to point to - the internal rhyming is brilliant

    2) You want to know why Paul is the greatest songwriter in history? Look at the structure - the Na Na Na's perfectly resolve the hanging chords at the end of each verse.

    3) When you really consider the meaning of the song, its a pretty deep exercise.

Hey Jude is better. Never liked YCAGWYW.

Am I to assume that the moratorium on "versus" threads has been lifted, yes?? And we have the all clear now, yes??

I really don't see a connection or even a slight similarity between the two songs.

Two slow and somewhat boring (imo) songs from two great band. Hey Jude is the less annoying of the two though, actually a good song.

YCAGWYW because 12 minutes of Na Na Na Na-Na-Na Na wears out it's welcome mighty fast.
