Seems the home page is all fairly old, and I somehow missed the last newsletter. What new projects await? Thank you, sir.

    A message from Steve:

Hi everyone. It's been a while since the last SH Newsletter and I'm
sorry about that. Hopefully this edition will make it up to you.

A few things I am working on, mastering wise, for our three favorite
    record companies:

    ANALOGUE PRODUCTIONS/ACOUSTIC SOUNDS:
    http://store.acousticsounds.com/

I am cutting some fantastic 12" 45 RPM singles with Kevin Gray of some
    Later Stax/Volt and Enterprise titles.

    Including:

The Staples Singers' "I'll Take You There" backed with "Respect Yourself".

Isaac Hayes "Theme From Shaft" backed with "Do Your Thing".

An Otis Redding 12" 45. Titles to be determined.

I've cut three great Art Pepper albums for 45 RPM that were recorded at the
end of Art's career. He was never playing better:

    "The Intimate Art Pepper"
    "Art Pepper/So In Love"
    "Art Pepper/In New York"

    Amazing sounding albums!

Also, be on the lookout for some more amazing 45 RPM jazz reissues that will
be issued later this year. I'm starting pre-production on them now. You'll
    love them!

Did you ever hear the amazing live album by Albert King and Stevie Ray
Vaughan? A true meeting of the minds, coming to a turntable near you!

Keep your ears peeled for some CREEDENCE CLEARWATER REVIVAL news as well!

Some nice SACD projects in the works too. Have to wait for Chad to give the
    go ahead first though. :^)

    -----------------------------------------------

    AUDIO FIDELITY: http://www.audiofidelity.net/index.html

Don't forget to pick up the great sounding JOHN LEE HOOKER/RITCHIE
VALENS/LIGHTNIN' HOPKINS SACD's that were just released. I had a blast
mastering those titles. Really great sounding stuff.

Jazz fans will love the Sonny Clark Trio SACD as well, mastered from
the three-tracks! If you haven't picked up your ZOMBIES Greatest Hits
SACD, better do so. As we know, these things aren't around for ever! Get
    yours while you can!

Don't forget the LP versions of the Hopkins/Hooker and a great blues
comp called "O Blues, Where Art Thou?" Some great vintage stuff on there.

A soon to be released SACD and LP is "Man Of The World-Reflections On
    Peter Green" AFLP011):

Oh Well - Billy Sheehan (7:41)
Showbiz Blues - Rory Gallagher (6:53)
The Green Manalishi - Arthur Brown (5:19)
Looking For Somebody - Snowy White (7:14)
Love That Burns - Dave Peverett (6:12)
Rattlesnake Shake - Vince Converse (5:29)
Ramblin' Pony - Harvey Mandel (5:19)
If You Be My Baby - Dave Peverett (4:35)
Baby When The Sun Goes Down - Southside Johnny (4:48)
Black Magic Woman - Larry McCray (3:57)
Crying Won't Bring You Back - Luther Grosvenor (5:17)
Stop Messin' 'Round - Savoy Brown (3:08)
    Albatross - Paul Jones (4:41)
Leaving Town Blues - Rory Gallagher (6:50)
Man Of The World - Ian Anderson (2:53)

Peter Green is the founder of Fleetwood Mac and his songs have been
recorded, covered, and re-interpreted for the past 40 years. As BB King
has said, "Peter Green is the only man who ever made me sweat." Artists
such as Ian Anderson, Rory Gallagher, Savoy Brown, Harvey Mandel and
others share their interpretations of some of Peter's greatest songs
(Oh Well, Black Magic Women, Albatross, Supernatural and more), making
this 15 song collection a must have.

I mastered this from the 30 IPS 1/2" master tapes. Don't miss it.

Another one I just finished is "Bob James In Hi-Fi" (AFZ-009)

    Touchdown
    Spunky
    Rush Hour
    Zebra Man
    Heads
    Westchester Lady
    Tappan Zee
    Blue Lick
    Nautilus
    Angela (Theme from "Taxi")
    Farandole

14 favorites compiled by Bob James from the Tappan Zee years. Making
this collection even more special are Bob's own liner notes giving his
personal insights into each of the recordings. The master of smooth jazz
delivers his first audiophile release and AUDIO FIDELITY has it. Some
of his favorites in the collection are Angela, Westchester Lady, Rush
Hour, and Spunky. My favorite is of course Touchdown and Angela (the
"Taxi" theme). All of the original stereo master mixes by Rudy Van
Gelder and others were brought together for the SACD mastering of this
album. It was a royal pain in the butt getting everything together,
but I'm happy with the results!

The Tommy Turrentine/Max Roach SACD is soon going to be released.
    From the Time Records catalog.

On his first album under his own name, Tommy Turrentine was joined
by his brother Stanley Turrentine on tenor sax, Max Roach on drums,
Julian Priester on trombone, Horace Parlan on piano and Bob Boswell on
bass. Recorded at Capitol, in NYC back in the days when vacuum tubes
    ruled the recording studios!

Many future projects are in the works at Audio Fidelity, including a
Donovan project which is combining his hits of Hickory (Pye) and some
great Epic stuff for an SACD entitled "Donovan--Storyteller".

Other neat stuff is in the planning stage from Audio Fidelity.
    Stay tuned!

    ----------------------------------------------------

    S&P Records:

It's EVA CASSIDY TIME! The long-awaited Eva Cassidy "Songbird" album
is going to be mastered for 45 RPM by Kevin Gray and myself. This will
be a strictly limited edition of this fine album. More Eva to come!

S&P's "Tennessee Ernie Ford -America the Beautiful" CD, mastered from the
Capitol Records master tapes is soon to be released. Sounds wonderful. If
you like ol' Tennessee Ern, this is the reissue for you!

I'm working this week on two classic country albums:

Moe Bandy & Joe Stampley: "Just Good Ol' Boys" & Hey Moe, Hey Joe!"
Mastered directly from the Columbia master tapes.

Some other great stuff coming from the vaults of Columbia courtesy of
Sony Music and Capitol/EMI. Stay tuned!

Also, hey, some really great S&P vinyl is coming, but I can't tell you
about it yet, sorry! These things take SOOOO long to clear.

Do you have these S&P CD's yet?

    S & P Records SPR-701 JOHNNY CASH
    S & P Records SPR-703 JUDY GARLAND
    S & P Records SPR-704 JOHNNY HORTON
    S & P Records SPR-705 DAVE MASON
    S & P Records SPR-707 TENNESSEE ERNIE FORD

    Of course these are:

Hymns By Johnny Cash / Sings Precious Memories (Twofer)
Judy In Love / Alone (Twofer)
    Johnny Horton Makes History
It's Like You Never Left / Dave Mason (Twofer)
    America The Beautiful

All from the original master tapes!

I'll be gettin' me a copy of this durned LP fer shore!

I'm really looking forward to the Donovan.

Steve, please don't skimp on content!

You could fit a good 25 or more tracks on one disc. Better still, make it a double!
