DR value and recording quality are two different things.

Not to mention that they are only 24/44.1 and I am almost certain The Game and Night At The Opera are available in 24/96.

I thought they were 24/48?? EDIT: I just check my files, they are 24/48.

Yes, both those titles were/are available in DVD-A/Blu-Ray.

Just grabbed Fear of the Dark off Onkyo Music. I have not previously used them, but for $13-14 I was willing to give it a shot. I just bought the black vinyl reissues w the red collectors box a few months bach, so I don't want to buy those again so soon... so Fear gets the nod.
Looks like you can download your files more than once on their site, which I may have read upthread but I had forgotten about.
    EDIT:
DR 6 for what it's worth

If you are referring to the USB box set then the Amazon description is wrong but more to the point i wonder why they decided to go for lower resolution and still charge an exorbitant amount of money for it.

    Amazon is wrong.

Bigger questions abound...why 24/48? I would bet those tapes were archived at a higher rate....yeh the price is crazy. That's what friends are for.:D

Well like I mentioned earlier The Game and A Night At The Opera have been released in 24/96 before so they definitely are.

But the The Orb is the same mastering as as the Ludwig 40 box sets the 24/96 versions you mentioned are not connected...I don't think he anything to do with them.

There's a bunch available at QoBuz, who will provide you with an account if you email them as Andre suggested earlier in this thread. If the Euro stays weak they are at a great price as well!

I know The Game is a different mastering but I believe The Night Of The Opera Blu-ray is Ludwig and I'm pretty sure it's 24/96 (a friend us borrowing my copy so I can't verify)

    Thinking those were PCM sourced.

True, but the Canadian dollar is weak too, so QoBuz is pricier than Prostudiomasters for Canadians.

Yes, they are the same 2011 remasters. SHM-SACD copied from the 96/24 masters.

Do you think there is a correlation between the two? I certainly do. I also think that most people do know the difference between the two.

Do Qobuz ever do discount codes? If so, anyone got any current ones?

  24. So what's worth buying on the Pono store these days?
