If the vinyl uses the same digital master it's not going to be any better.

Lots of Harry Nilsson on HD Tracks today. I wonder if these are from the same transfers from the box set or new?

Re: the Listen Without Prejudice / MTV Unplugged HD Tracks download. To the folks involved in this project who insisted the original dynamics remain intact, a big thank you. Finally a music purchase I don't regret because someone was trying to win the "loudness" war.

The box set was excellent. Hi-res versions of the same masterings would be welcome.

Does anybody know the story about the recent Duke Ellington release on HD Tracks? I'm curious as to when it was recorded.

Qobuz has the whole thing in lossless, not hires. It’s twice the cost of the Codie box though. I ended up getting the box.

A bit off subject but the only music more expensive that HiRes downloads seems to be SACD formatted music.

FWIW, I've bought a couple of the 2XHD downloads in DSF file format. Louis Armstrong Mack the Knife and Otis Spann Good Morning Mr. Blues. It could be the performances (although I'm a huge Otis Spann fan, his songs on Chicago/The Blues/Today are some of my very favorite), but I think they sound flat and boring.

Norah Jones "Day Breaks" was just put up on HD Tracks in a new deluxe edition with 9 live tracks. The regular edition (still available on HD Tracks is 96/24), but for some reason the new deluxe edition has the entire thing in 44.1/24.
