As mentioned in previous posts an account can be opened using a VPN or a browser add-in like Hola (turn it off after use), after which you can log in without it. It's on the UK site; I haven't checked on the French. I use Paypal so I don't know if there's an issue with US credit cards. The download's expensive but maybe cheaper than a used copy of the box set.

Thanks. The set’s OOP, and goes for $200+.

Regarding Qobuz, I created an account on the French site nearly two years ago to buy some Arctic Monkeys b-sides in flac. I don't remember using a VPN or having any trouble (I'm in the US).

Now that there is a UK Qobuz I get auto directed there and it doesn't accept my username/password from the French site or let me buy anything. Luckily I still get newsletters from French Qobuz so I just get to the right French url from their emails lol

Weirdly enough I don't even have to enter a password or anything on the french site and when I try to it gets kinda pissy. So I just put things in my cart and it knows my PayPal and pushes to their desktop downloader software.

Really odd setup I know, luckily I lived in Quebec for 4 years, so I'm comfortable enough with the language to pick the right songs and buttons and know I'm not being scammed

Any ideas why only HD Tracks has it and not Acoustic Sounds ?

The Fleetwood Mac remaster seems to me to be 48kHz files mastered at 96 kHz

Nothing above 24 kHz. But it does sound good. Puncy, detailed, and solid.

Yep. Like the recent Deluxe Editions of Mac's "Buckingham, Nicks" period the sound is great!!

I ripped the DVD from the Deluxe set that also was released these days and I clearly see content in the 30...35kHz range, no cutoff. Not sure if this is a different master than the HDTracks version.

But not bad for an 43 year old recording! And the sound is great!

It is advertised as a 2017 remaster. We'll see if it's different from the HDTracks download (which was already excellent).

You are technically correct. Actually I see content there too...but no musical information above 24. I think the DVD and HDTracks
    files are identical.

I'm loving the sound of this too. Great content and price with Qobuz membership, too.

Good. Just to make sure the Digital version uses the same new 2017 master as the deluxe set.

    Yes, identical tracks, identical everything.

FWIW, I don't have a problem with 48khz files being mastered at 96. As long as the end result is primo!

I downloaded it....same DR as CD. No time yet for detailed listening, but I wouldn't expect much different.

Well... sometimes I do feel a bit cheated... an example would be Madonna's "Like A Virgin" - sold as 192kHz/24bit, but nothing but hot air above 20kHz.

But in the end brickwall compression is a much bigger problem than frequency cutoffs.

So do we have a consensus on the S/T Fleetwood Mac hi-rez release? Should I buy from HDTracks? Or is there a (cheaper) alternative with the same mastering?

I think you'll find it cheapest at HDtracks, $29.73 after HDJAN19 coupon.

SamS, I'd personally go with the old dynamic 24/96 (2011) For the main album if that's what you're looking for-This new one is pretty crushed...
Or my favorite- the old Japan for US compact disc.

Yep, that coupon code via email caught my eye ;)

Yes, I have that old CD, plus the MFSL LP, both are wonderful. But I went ahead and ordered the Deluxe version from Amazon.UK for ~ $56. Those 5.1 and bonus tracks have me very intrigued.

Crushed? I've heard nothing but positive comments for the 2018 remaster of the main album.

I didn't care for the 2004, which to me sounds pretty much identical to this new one.
I bought 1 track from Qobuz as a tester. This is of course my opinion and tastes :)
    Sorry 'crushed' was overkill.
