Hi-Res Download News (HDTracks, ProStudioMasters, Pono, etc.) & Software/Mastering Part 12**

For new music (pop, etc.) there are virtually no hirez releases.

 

I guess it depends what your definition of hirez is.

 

Poco's Head Over Heels sounds perfect. Hdtracks also released Rose of Cimarron.

 

Would you be able to post the DR numbers, for reference only?

(Believe 5 other Poco albums will be released in the coming weeks in hirez as —like Head Over Heels and Rose Of Cimarron— they are also slated for late July release in Japan as SHM-CDs: Indian Summer, Legend, Under The Gun, Cowboys and Englishmen, Blue And Grey.)

 

Hey guys. I just downloaded the zipped WAV file of Peter Gabriel 4 from Bowers & Wilkins' website. I used WinZip to unzip the files. The files play fine on my PC. However, my OPPO player won't play them. The cursor just skips through all the tracks and stops. I can play any other WAV files on it with no problem. Anybody have a guess as to why I'm having this issue?

 

Very true. I would start at 48/24 minimum. In my limited experience, there isn't much difference between CDs and 44/24 downloads and CDs are generally less expensive.

 

Where on the B&W website did you purchase Peter Gabriel 4? I thought that only So was available. Can you provide a link? Thanks!

hey, if you guys don't mind a probably stupid question...

just downloaded some tracks/albums from HDtracks and must've inadvertently deleted one track (the new Paul single Come On To Me) and it's nowhere to be found in my computer, trash or otherwise

I don't see a function to re-download the track - just bought it a couple hours ago - figure no one is there at the office today so I thought I would ask here... is there a way to do that without buying again?

 

Try putting the downloaded folder and files back in your default download location and then fire up the download program. It should see the missing track and download it.
