    For some reason (lack of hearing maybe)...some people credit "Brandy" to Gordon Lightfoot.

    Not only that, but the female vocal on it isn't sung by Chaka, either. The female vocalist was also the song's cowriter, Toni Smith.

    i remember people insisting that Van Morrison's version of It’s All Over Now, Baby Blue is by the Stones.

    Chaka Khan said when she first heard the song she thought " wait, when did I record that!?" Not the exact quote but something like that.
