Kacey Musgraves' Christmas album is coming out in a few days and sound like a fun one. You'll find a sampler over on The Taste of Country web site.

It looks like it offers a balanced selection of classic songs and newly written material with a few guest sprinkled here and there to make everything sparkle a little more. The arrangements sound pretty tasty with tops musician on board Santa's sleigh. I'm looking forward to it.

Incidentally, we've had our very first snow today. It's pretty much melted as soon as it hit the ground but it was lovely to see them beeg wet flakes come down oh so slowly. :)

Awesome. We didn't hit 90 degrees today, so that's a win for us.

Here's another one I've just learned about. My apologies if it's already been unleashed upon everyone. :)

Currently available for pre-order on Amazon.com and iTunes.

There are a bunch of newly written songs which is always cause for extra celebration. The track Sentimental Christmas could easily be featured on a Doctor Demento Christmas compilation (warning, hard drugs were consumed during the making of the video).

Janet Lynch - A Swingin' Little Christmas (KitschTone Records) - featuring Kate Flannery & Tim Davis with The Tony Guerrero Quintet.

Last one. Do you want to freak out your friends and relatives at this year's Holiday gatherings? Simply make the face Tim Davis is making at 2:05 and you'll be remembered for generations. Was he going for a Bela Lugosi vibe? I keep expecting him to shout out "Pull the string!". :D

    - What in the world?! LOL My first thought was "Holy crap, no. This is gonna be bad." But hey, the Swingin' Little Christmas is pretty awesome! I think they should have done the entire album as a trio. It works really well. The solo song is just alright, while the Sentimental Christmas is rather humorous. I don't see a vinyl release. Which is insane, given how they're going for this whole retro look along with the video and using a LP in every video!? LOL Maybe we'll see one shortly after the CD/MP3 hits. This could be good for the occasional Holiday laugh!

Looks like Enya's "And Winter Came" Christmas/Holiday(-ish) album is getting a vinyl release this year! (Sorry if this has already been mentioned.)

Best news here is that Ashley Hutchings came out of retirement to make a new album with the Albion Christmas Band. Includes Simon Nicol (Fairport) and other Albion regulars...Gotta be good.

That Jane Lynch album is very enticing. The videos are super-funny.
