Wishing her the best in conquering her illness. I admire her outlook and optimism while battling the disease.
It won't be easy, but fortunately it sounds like she has a strong support group of loved ones.

I admire her outlook and optimism as well. Not many people have that outlook and optimism at all.

Here's a very optimistic song that is appropriate for this time:

Warner Bros. needs to reissue her out of print catalog, especially the MTM catalog as Warner Bros. owns her MTM catalog and everything else up to 1993's Getting It Dunn. Everybody else who recorded for MTM has their MTM catalog owned by Sony.

She had a radio show in Detroit for awhile, met her at a couple of events, nice lady, hope she beats it.

Holly is an incredibly talented and beautiful woman. About 5 or 6 years ago, Holly had an art gallery in Texas and I got to meet her in person. She would have people come from around the world just to see her work. My other home is located not far from where her family resides. Last I heard, Holly has since moved back to the Santa Fe area and with the frustrating traffic in Texas I don't blame her. Santa Fe is known for having good healthcare facilities and I'm confident she will receive the best possible care. Get well soon, Holly!

Definitely, Brad. I know her Greatest Hits CD was reissued a few years back, but none of the actual albums are technically in print and there's no reason for such injustice. Those albums contained excellent deep cuts which could've been hits in their own right.

The Greatest Hits album came out in 1991 and was never gone OOP.

She used to be on The Nashville Network quite a bit back in the day. I must say, I always found her rather nondescript, especially compared to some of the other great artists of that time period.

That being said, I'm wishing her well in her health battles.

What a great album. Holly really was on a roll after her first album took off. "Blue Rose Of Texas," "Heart Full Of Love," "Cornerstone" and "Across The Rio Grande" had really strong songs. After that, Holly's sound started changing with rowdier trends during the 1990s and the songs on those albums were less consistent. However, her last CD was the gospel album "Full Circle," was a very enjoyable, rootsier album which reminded me a lot of Emmylou Harris. That disc needs to be reissued with updated artwork.

Sorry to read this about Holly, as I used to play her songs on the radio back in the day. Sounds like she is literally now in "Father's Hands".

She knew that the times were changing and she tried to adapt to the changing times but couldn't do it very well so she ended up having to retire from country music. Such is life in the music industry.

Daddy's Hands is a favorite of mine. A highlight of the 80s.

Tragic news. I knew her father, the late Rev. Frank Dunn in Austin, TX, and worked with him in the recording
studio many, many times back in the '80s. My thoughts and prayers go out to the Dunn Family.

    Oh.

Loved her early MTM albums. Still see the albums in the dollar bins.

How very sad. I hate hearing this and I hate cancer. My wife is six years cancer free from ovarian cancer.
