    Thanks :) Some I've seen around (from Vanity Fair for instance, the Judy pic is on the cover of the MCA rare Decca LP) but some are new to me too.

    That photo of Flynn against the blue and yellow backdrop is striking.

    Notice Ball's teeth in the photo above. They don't blind you the way stars' teeth do these days!

    It's amazing to see Lucille Ball in this context. I think a lot of people forget her pre-Lucy career.

    Well with all the smoking they did that would've been hard to do!

    These are great photos, but I'm struck at how garish and relatively flat the lighting is. Nothing close to the gorgeous lighting techniques used in the more common B&W publicity stills of the era. I've seen plenty of lit non-Hollywood Kodachromes before that look far better, so I wonder if they were making these with the cheap celebrity gossip magazine covers in mind. Fun stuff!

    Yeah, you're right: there's a poster quality flatness to many of them.
