In the early 80's, a lot of independent film companies were producing sex comedies and horror movies. I've tried to watch as many of both as I can but I know a few have slipped through. I need you to name a comedy or horror film that I may have forgotten about or I have never seen.

Mary! Mark was absolutely hysterical in this...I'm laughing as I type this post! I was thrilled when Legend first put out the DVD...but, IIRC it's not anamorphic? did they ever release this again on home video?

It was released on blu-ray as a double feature with Student Bodies. I haven't seen this edition so I can't comment on the picture quality.

This is one time where the movie was funnier than the preview.

    Critters
    Troll
    (and the sequels)
    The Gate
    Ghoulies
    (and sequels)

Return of the Living Dead. It's both comedy and horror and one of the best examples of both in the 80s.

My kinda thread. Rockula combines BOTH comedy and horror (albeit light) for a weird 80's mix - throw in Toni Basil and Bo Diddley (in an acting role!) and you've got a fun 90 minutes.

Another horror film I recently watched was Death Wish Club (1983) - a bizarro horror flick that was edited down to 20 minutes and included in the horror compilation Night Train to Terror (screwing up the plot all the while). What little of a plot it has involves a blue actress and a guy who's obsessed with her, and in the process she turns into a piano playing guy named Charlie!

Also consider the Toxic Avenger / Troma films (depending on your level of taste).
