I recently bid on a number of medium rare blues albums over the weekend and almost all of them went for more than i was expecting. In looking at the bid history of the item i won i started to notice numerous bidders had a ton of bids in the last 30 days and they were 90%-99% with this seller. I believe they were using shill bids in the mid-range of the auction instead of a reserve to get the prices high before final bidding.

    What should i do ?

    here is an example:

Be thankful that you smartly and safely bid on eBay, by making only one bid at the maximum you are willing to pay in the last 15 seconds before the auction ends. You will either get the item at a price you are willing to pay or laugh at the tool who paid more, shill or not. Shilling is mostly an urban legend, but in any case is ineffective against this strategy.
