For instance, I'm trying to look on ebay for a used copy of Elton John's self titled album on CD. But I can't seem to do it without getting 5000 of his other CD's, obviously. Any tips or secrets, people???

    I would use these searches

"Elton John Elton John" (quotation marks required)
    Elton John s/t
    Elton John same

All the best - Andrew :)

Or try pasting this in the search field with the needed artist name:

"artist name" ("artist name", s/t, "self-titled", same) - might return all albums by the artist though

    "artist name" (s/t, "self-titled", same)

I wonder if one should add "eponymous" to the syntax in the brackets:)

Well "Elton John Elton John" got the best result ,with about 6 or 7. S/T got 2, and "Same" got zero. Thats still an improvment from what I got, I just wish there was an easier way! For every auction I find, there are probably 20 I'm missing. Thanks!

Even if there was an easier way, you might miss the majority of the auctions. Kinda sucks, huh? :)

Don't forget you can use the minus - sign to subtract out items you don't want to look at i.e. -madman -shoot -caribou Not the most effective for people with 50 albums but helps in some instances.
