Back in 1998, I drove from upstate NY to Boston to buy the DG Complete Beethoven Edition from Tower Records. It was the last one in stock in the Tower system. Still one of my prized possessions.

For the last few years, every summer I travel 375 miles, or 600 kilometres to see Al Kooper perform in New York city.
And 375 miles to get back home.

    And it's worth it!

In 1993, I traveled about the same distance to see Paul McCartney in Toronto.

  8. <=== Between San Francisco and Sacramento.

Drove from Tucson to Seattle to see Slayer. Then followed them down the coast and over to Phoenix over the next 15 days or so.

I drove to NYC to drop a Blackguard off a few years back. A guy named Keith flew across the pond to pick it up.

Just got back from Mexico and the One Big Holiday party that My Morning Jacket throws every year or so. Brought my wife, our daughters (3 & 1) and the in-laws. Call me Clark W Griswold.

    Best trip ever

There's a gentleman who flies in from Japan every year to see the show! We inevitably bump into each other at the show and laugh over our mutual admiration for Al.

SF to Oswego New York for Phish in 99.

SF to London to buy Peter Hammill - The Margin

Had the good fortune to be able to see in in concert when I was living there in '94 but that was strictly by chance.

That's the case. It's a birthday concert, but he celebrates it in June, because he doesn't want to travel in the winter (his birthday is February 5)
