I'm guessing I have about 50 records in that category, and 20 CDs...:)

I've never listened to my Switchfoot SACD. Afraid too I guess.

My collection is probably much smaller than some of the guys here, but I have to listen to everything I buy. If I come home from Half Price Books with 20 albums, they all get cleaned and get a quick listen.

I have a few classical CD's that I haven't listened to, only because they were purchased by my wife for a humanities class she was teaching and didn't use. They're all on budget labels, so I've never bother to open them.

I can't imagine buying an LP and not listening to it, unless it's some kind of million dollar collectors item. Why bother?

I would guess 300-500 LPs that I just haven't got around to. The wait for the cleaning proccess is usually the hold up.

Sometimes I'm surprised to find sealed CDs in my collection. These are albums I already had on vinyl or knew the songs anyway and bought to take advantage of a sale. But I do intend to play them eventually.

Half Price Books uh? I had a very nice experience on that place, I wish I had a similar store around here.

If you want to expand that to "listened to once," then I have a lot, esp. CDs.

    Tons!

As I've said before, at some point a collection becomes a library. The records are there for future research and discovery. If I read something interesting in Goldmine about some obscure Neil Sedaka or Accept record, I go to my library and see if I have it. If I do, that's when I play it. I've discovered a lot of cool stuff that way.

None as I always make a point of listening to everything that I buy before I file it away.

I probably have some albums that I've listened only once or twice, but can't think of any I've never played. If I get an album, I at least give it one spin.

I've been working through a truck load purchase since last summer, so there are probably 100-150 records that have not been played to see if they're keepers or not.

I have several vinyl records I haven't listened to yet. They're still sealed. Don't ask me why. I don't even know myself!
I've also have some CD's I have to listen to, especially Jazz.
