How records are plated (what happens after the lacquer is cut)

    Cool. So, when EMI re-pressed some of their mono Beatles titles in the 80's, which of these metal parts did they go back to?

    Don't know. Could be any of them:

    Stampers, or mothers (to make new stampers) or masters (to make new mothers).

    Steve, can only one stamper be made from a single mother? I'd heard the plating process(from mother to stamper) can be done more than once. Is that true or not?

    Many stampers can be made (with care) from a single Mom.
