Ye of little faith, thanks to this thread, the dude's out there with his head spinning, spending a fortune hunting out all those OG pressings of bands that 4% of this forum has ever heard of. Give him a break ;)

Look at his other posts, he's a prog troll. He's probably still trying to figure out how to dance to Gentle Giant.

Also, don’t forget The Shaggs - Philosophy Of The World. One of Kurt Cobain’s favourite bands. Damn, that guy had great taste in music.

Somebody Got Murdered by the Clash is the exact opposite of dull - I find it breathlessly exciting

I find the thread title to make more sense if one imagines it being said by Clint Eastwood as Dirty Harry with commas inserted thus: "I find punk quite dull, so recommend me some, punk" addressing the 'punk' he's pointing his gun at trying to remember if he fired off 5 rounds or 6... :D

Jim Carroll Band's first album is a must hear and seems to be unjustly forgotten.

OP, what do you think of metal?

Maybe some crossover-thrash would do the trick - Suicidal Tendencies, Anthrax, Stormtroopers of Death, DRI, etc

The Rolling Stones not only wrote and recorded stuff like:

The police in New York City
They chased a boy right through the park
And in a case of mistaken identity
They put a bullet through his heart

They got their song played on the radio...
