I got to record the Jordanaires last night.

    It's Jamie Tate. There's several things wrong with my AMG listing. I wasn't given credit for mixing several of the things it says I only recorded. Oh well.

    What a thrill to work with those guys it must have been. I was just watching a kinescope of the "Milton Berle" show from 1956 with Elvis ANd the Jordanaires!!! 47 years ago!!

    I was fortunate enough to see those guys perform live last year, they were incredible and had some great Elvis stories to tell in between.

    Jamie,

    Thanks for posting this. I was struck my how youthful they sound. And that the sound is reminiscent of some Beach Boys' outtakes - the voices are different and the harmonies are different but I get the same feeling. Truly uplifting.

    On a different note, the middle Jordanaire (of the 5 in the picture) looks like he's on his last legs - very sad. He must be the oldest as well as the tallest.
