I just watched the Peter Gabriel Growing UP Live DVD

This DVD is great! Very , very well done!

I never got the chance to see this tour so this was the next best thing. Unforunately I don't have surround sound so but it sounded great just coming through my TV speakers- well mixed. I always wonder how much overdubbing Gabriel does when he releases a live album or DVD since he always fiddles w/ it.

I haven't got the chance to watch the extras yet except for hearing/seeing the remix for More Than This.

Well worth it if you are a fan. It comes out on Tuesday 11/4.

I saw this tour twice this past year and Peter is in fine form.

Can't wait to see the DVD.

 

I have the two-CD live set from his stop in Detroit this past summer (the tour where he visited smaller venues). He gets quite a full sound out of his band without any overdubs. It will be neat to compare the DVD to the live CDs. I didn't see his large stadium tour, so the extra visuals will be a treat.

 

I was looking for the web link, I will post it later when I find it, that Peter gabrriel and the band did over dubs and clean up in an airplane hanger so the sound would match the original sound of the concert.
