One of the grossest creatures around.
Still a funny commercial.
You know how those freaks will eat anything ?
Well, about 30 years ago, my ex-wife made cornbread, so godawful...she threw it out next to the dumpster, figuring a critter could eat it. Sure enough, here comes a possum, he sniffs it, takes a bite, backs way from it, and runs !
I once ate part of a bad meatloaf, decided not to eat it, then set it down for my cat to eat it. She sniffed it, looked up at me, then made a "digging" motion with her paws -- mirroring what they do in the litter box. Everybody's a critic...
Most all of their commercials are hilarious...
Better than the gecko.
Pretty good possum. Well fluffed and cleaned, based on those I've seen round here who resemble giant albino Zombie rats. The hiss is the same, though.
I do have to admit that is killer funny...
That's why I never feed my cat stuff that I cooked.
That Possum needs to get in a pot with some dumplings...
Made me smile. Can't remember the last time a commercial made me do that.
I laughed out loud the first (and second, and third) time I saw this.
do people really eat them?
I thought they were reserved solely for the Clampetts!
the only other one I like is with the talking babies...forgot what company it was though...
Playing possum . Gets me every time.
Yes! I live in the wee-jun auf da kuntry where I seldom go too long without seeing one of those Eat More Possum bumper stickers. I've had Deer, Boar, Black Bear, and even Squirrel & Dumplings once. I've never had Possum.
It would be easy enough to get one around here! I have no musket to sight one with but I have an automobile. They're very nocturnal. I'm confident I could go out and run one down. I could probably bag a few Racoons too. I wonder what they taste like? They might be best served with dumplin's too?
I know there is some kind of association down in 'Bama that would like folks to eat more Possum. Is the next big thing gonna be Possum? The bumper sticker campaign doesn't seem to be particularly effective. If the next recession gets bad enough, I might eat Possum but till then....nah!
There was a thread a year or two ago and I remember when I first moved to Florida some of the kids I was working with said their families regularly would get road kill and cook and eat it. Obviously, possums and armadillos were high on the "take home" list.
I don't have to see the commercial . . . you already made my night, girl! LOL
Possum and Dumplings.
Separate names with a comma.
