OK fellas, I need your help with this one! I think it was made in the 2000>2010 time frame, and it was an ensemble comedy revolving around an apartment and a large amount of lost money with various people trying to claim/steal it for themselves. Every time someone would attempt to make off with it, they would meet with some kind of bizarre fatal accident. (One of the deaths happened on a rooftop) There was a girl involved who I seem to remember had a "goth" look to her, but I may be mistaken about that. I also seem to remember a couple of bumbling crooks who lost the money, and owe it to someone higher up. This is a movie I saw some of a long time ago, and never got to see how it ended. I'm keeping my fingers crossed!
I just looked at the trailer, and that wasn't it, but it looks like fun so I'm going to track that one down! Thanks!
I don't think there is a goth girl in it but sounds similar to the plot described. It is also of course a remake of the Ealing Comedy of the same name which definitely didn't have a goth girl in it.
No Phil, that wasn't it either, but that movie looks like a good time though! Should I see the original before I see the remake? I'm a big fan of ALL the actors in the original, but somehow I've never seen it!
It's been a very long time since I've seen it but I would start with the original first. Might be a bit dated now but as you say a lot of great actors in it and I remember it as been very funny but quite dark also for a film of that time. I will be honest and say I'm pretty sure I haven't seen the remake, so I might be missing something, but the original is such a real classic that I find it hard to believe any remake but could do it justice. But that is my opinion and I've been wrong before I was just reading the wiki page for the original and it mentions one of the gang was called 'one round' Lawson a punch drunk boxer. Called 'one round' not because he used to knock people out in one round but because he never lasted past the first round... makes me laugh anyway!! A great ensemble and we get to see Peter Sellers and Herbert Lom together before they would become forever entwined in the Pink Panther movies.
