Any recommendations on brands or sizes. I know there are different types of wires so I want to buy the right one. I am trying to ground my recently purchased Sony PS-LX350H

I assume you are referring to the ground wire that connects from the ground terminal on the TT to the phono/preamp ground terminal.

Any piece of insulated wire will work. Solid or stranded. Though stranded is usually used. There is not a specific size that I am aware of. 22 gauge, 20 gauge, or even 18 gauge will work.
Just bare each end of the wire and connect it to the ground terminals.

If you want to buy a ready made TT grounding wire with forks on each end you can find them on eBay.

I just cut out one side of some leftover speaker cable and used that. Works fine.

There are several ground wire options off the spool at either Lowes or Home Depot. I'm sure they have both 12 ga. and 14 ga. It wouldn't surprise me if they have 16 ga. or 18 ga. as well. I'd echo the sentiment above and stick with stranded and with a green jacket, or a striped green/clear jacket.

It's probably just the electrician in me (remodeling professional most of my career) but I'd go for 16 or 18. The lighter gauges will probably work but they feel so...um...unsubstantial to me. And 12 and 14 are clearly overkill.

You could probably get away with a coat hanger with the paint sanded off at the ends but it wouldn't look very classy. :D

I bought a "generic" ground wire from turntableneedles.com. Works great!

Man, you need, yes NEED some super duper cryo treated nano ceramic impregnated crisscross woven quadruple shielded wire borne and suspended in liquid nitrogen with only hand selected specific gravity dielectric enabled with the latest and greatest flip flop multi-vibrator logic circuit tamed only by its ultra tri-directional Teflon separators which make sure the nasty ground hum slips effortlessly down into the center of the earth's core at the speed of light.

And don't forget to hook it up to a 12" diameter single quintuplet virgin crystal stranded Oxygen Free Copper grounding rod that has been driven into the earth at least a 1/4 of a mile minimum away from your house due east to at least a depth of 375 feet. Make sure that is accomplished during the waxing not waning a of a full lunar eclipse!

Hopefully you already have the latest and greatest MK- VIII version of the simply sublime Harley Colefax Reverbalating Oscillator Valve which enables your audio system to deliver the consummate delineation of texture and detail even when driving complex loads across the entire spectrum of light and sound into your air pressure driven speakers with 9 alternately splayed inside out designed drivers based on the tried and true Campbell's Soup Can Voice Of The Mute Lou Reed version which employ a flotation coupled basket design via a dual wall nonexistent capillary tube lined crossover which was packed in zero gravity outside the rings of Saturn with the finest used cat litter and dampened with steam evaporated wet blankets made of thousand year old rocky mountain goat hairs that were retrieved from the great pyramid of Giza.

    Good luck!

Anything will work. I’m a man that spends money on upgraded cables, I’m a believer. For a ground wire I use a section I cut from an fm antenna.

Either a soldering iron or a crimping tool and a couple of the type ends you want are at the same home center.

I read this thread and swapped out a 10 awg copper wire with bare wire termination for the stranded 20 awg that was stock on my table. No audible difference.

  14. Sorry to butt in. My Rega TT does not have a ground. If i wanted to ground the TT, where, on the TT would i attach the wire. In doing so could i damage the TT or any other part of my rig? Apologies again

Regas are internally grounded and shouldn't need an external ground wire, that's why there's no spot for a ground on the chassis.
