I remastered PHIL COLLINS "But Seriously" today for Audio Fidelity. Sounds fantastic.

My CD arrived yesterday, courtesy of Amazon.co.uk ;)
Another masterpiece from Steve Hoffman, that’s for sure.
I own six CDs mastered by SH apart from this, and all are absolutely excellent.
In my opinion, the SH name is a “seal of quality” I can always trust in :righton:

Got this as a Father's Fay gift and just getting around to it today.

I had forgotten how much I liked this album. I just never played it because it sounded so awful. Not anymore!

I know "I Wish It Would Rain Down" got a lot of airplay, but man what a great song. That part halfway through the bridge when he sings "'cos I know, I know I never meant to cause you no pain" and the bass player plays this awesome lick and the choir kicks it up another notch - goosebumps!!

Buy this one before you can't any longer..

I'm not...like a dummy, I didn't snag this one. I've seen it go for $40. Dare I wait for a deal or risk the possibility of it going up in price...decisions decisions :sigh:

The first three Phil Collins AF discs are divine, no idea why I didn't get this one.

How about BOTH SIDES next? What an underrated album and P.C. plays all the instruments, IIRC.

This is the best radical transformation from an original CD to a remaster I've ever experienced. All these years I thought I wasn't much on the album, but apparently I just hated how it sounded! Well this AF release is phenomenal in every way. Great, great job Steve! This is a must own and in my opinion goes in the Steve Hoffman all time top ten.

Can you please remaster the Red Hot Chili Peppers albums? I like their music but I cringe every time I hear all that clipping. I will definitely check out this Phil Collins remaster.

What songs were recorded at The Farm and A&M? I'm still trying to distinguish the two studio sounds.

Track sheets would only be present with the multitrack tapes, not the mixdown tapes.

The instruments used have been discussed elsewhere. Most of the synth tones on the album are presets from the Roland D-50 & possibly Korg M1. Not much sound design as Phil was never a synthesist, but at least the sounds were effective.

Slightly OT, but are there any plans to remaster Phil's '90s albums?

Actually, I think AF chose the first 4 because they are bonafide classics. After that, Phil's albums were spotty except for a few moments in my opinion. By the time he did the Disney soundtracks, the magic was all gone.

I think there's enough good stuff on Both Sides to have made a solid single LP. Unfortunately the album goes on for about another 30 minutes. :sigh:

And since I switched to all files, I can even hit that button from my iPhone! But it's having to go through all that in the first place that's annoying and bogs down so, so many albums released during the CD era. I don't think I ever made it all the way through Dance Into The Light, even though there's probably a couple of okay songs buried on it...but ain't nobody got time for that.

If you are not a Phil fan, that is fine, but his first 4 albums are excellent.
