This card dropped out of a second hand CD I just bought, wonder if the offer is still on?

    It's only 20 years later...

I was lucky enough to see Hound Dog Taylor in 1971 and bought his record from this guy in the back - little did I know that it was Bruce or that it was the beginning of a great record label. Apart from all the other great recordings on the label, Bruce gets my sincere thanks for introducing me and a lot of the world to the amazing Hound Dog and his equally amazing bandmates.

I’ve been been enjoying Tommy Castro and the Painkillers on Alligator Records. Mastering done by Bruce Iglauer at The Boiler Room in Chicago (must all be related?). Some great listening.

I worked a record store in Grand Rapids, Michigan at the time and I remember buying records from guys from Alligator out of the back of a van.

A superb record label, a nice gentleman, and some of the best Blues you'll hear. What is not to like?

Hound Dog Taylor is just so f in good. It's awesome he gave some income to people who were just ledgendary but got little from their pioneering. The music business just chewed 'em up. So many great musicians went through Alligator that finally got a little something for their music. Congrats to Alligator and Bruce and Chicago itself. Just the best blues in the world.
