John Lennon Live In NYC was the One To One Concert. There were 2 shows at Madison Square Garden. An afternoon show and an evening show. I was at the afternoon show. I don't know if the cd is a mixture of both shows or just one show but there's a good chance I was there when it was recorded for release. Were you a part of any officially released live albums?

Kind of. "Undertow" off R.E.M.'s New Adventures in Hi-Fi was recorded at one of the Boston shows in '95, and I was at all of the Boston shows.

The Don Was live remix of the Stones' "Out Of Control" was from one of the MSG shows I went to in January of '98.

Didn't we have a thread along these same lines not too long ago?

I've noticed we need additional threads on same subjects about every six months or so. This lets the newbies get caught up in the excitement of 'Hoffman forum action,' especially when those old threads get 'stale' or overly long :)

With the release of the recent Simon & Garfunkel Live 1969 CD I can say I was a part of the audience. I was sitting front row, center during their concert at Carbondale, IL. Five or six of the songs on this CD were taken from that venue during their 1969 tour.

Several Paul McCartney concerts from which a song or two was used to compile a concert CD.

Hendrix - Paris '68 (released as part of Stages) - I attended the early show, the released tape is the evening show (he played Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band at the early show).

Stones - Ya Ya's at Madison Square Garden. Not sure if they used tracks from the show I attended though. I was disappointed they didn't follow through with their original plan and make it a double album with BB King and Ike and Tina on it (Terry Reid probably woudn't have made the cut).

Bruce Cockburn Live (recorded st The Ontario Place Forum); I can pick out my "trademark" whistling on this album!)

Mark Knopfler (Massey Hall 2001) He used live recordings from this on a CD single for Why Aye Man and on the bonus disc for The Ragpicker's Dream CD; once again you can hear my whistling!)

  14. Yes - Magnification Live DVD

A show at the Heineken Music Hall, Amsterdam (22-11-2001), I was there.

Rush - Snakes and arrows live

From 2 shows at Ahoy, Rotterdam. I was at the first night (16-10-2007).

Genesis - Live over Europe 2007

I was at the Amsterdam show (1-7-2007), this was the source for "Turn it on again" and "No son of mine". I was at the Brussels show as well, but none of that ended up on the live album.

No Nukes - Madison Square Garden Sept. '79. Bruce Springsteen's 30th birthday. I recall Bruce starting the show with a brand new song - an astounding "The River". It can be seen on the Video Collection.

I was there when Heart was recording in Detroit in November of 1990 for their "Rock This House Live" album, but for some reason they used the Worchester, MA concert from the same month. I know it wasn't from lack of audience involvement. We may have even been too loud.

The Jam - Live Jam, one track 'Strange Town' at the Brighton Centre, December 1979. I remember there being mikes over the audience, but having to wait fourteen years for any recordings to come out.

King Crimson - The 2000 Shepherd's Bush Empire show that was filmed and came out on DVD and was excerpted on the Heavy Construktion CD.

Van Der Graaf Generator - Real Time, Queen Elizabeth Hall May 2005. I sat next to Roy Harper, but he refused to speak to us common folk, although I had met him several times in Montreal in the mid-80's. So I changed seats with a friend and sat further back. Later shows on the first VDGG reunion tour of the century were better, and the recording is better than being there was for me - it was far too quiet, the Shepherd's Bush Empire show in July of that year was much better and had real power.

I was also at a Steve Winwood show at the Royal Albert Hall in 1988 which was broadcast on US tv, but I never saw it. To facilitate filming, they left the house lights up throughout the show, thus ruining it for the paying audience.

Too many to mention. (Well, not TONS, but too many for me to get off my lazy butt and figure them out! :D)

The Kinks' "The Road" is notable since I think it was the FIRST released album from a show I attended. The Pearl Jam "Touring Band" DVD is notable because you can actually see me at one point! :)

I saw Phish 12 times between 1994 and 2000. Three of those shows (and parts of two others) ended up as part of their Live Phish series.
