That's great!! You spent your money on something you LOVE and have wanted...no price tag on that far as I'm concerned. Hopefully it's everything you expect it to be.:edthumbs:

Thanks! As long as USPS doesn't destroy it on the way here, I'm sure it will be! I had a CD-R of a friend's copy before, and loved the sound of it.

    Way to go!

BTW some of those were issued without obi's but a round sticker on the cellophane instead.

    Enjoy! :pineapple:

You did fine. I just checked the records here, mine was $225.00 8 years ago. Nothing sounds like it, 'cept maybe my UK vinyl.
    Enjoy !

Wait, it won't play fine on a modern CD player?

    What about my Yamaha CD-S300?

Not sure George, the Onkyo 7030 with the Wolfson DAC did, but they recently swapped it out.
If you have a pre disc verified with the tag in the SUB, go back and forth between digital and analog out. You will hear a difference, especially in the vocals.

(My play has Burr Brown 192 kHz/24-bit DAC)

Can you tell me how I can "go back and forth between digital and analog out?"

I actually forgot about that. Well, my player is from 1988 (Sony CDP-507ESD). I'm sure it will pick up the pre-emphasis just fine.

Sorry, I’m not too enlightened on the sound of these particular CDs. How do they compare to the 2009s in terms of objective differences?

Nevermind, I just ripped my BT and played the ripped file on my USB. Lot of hiss on top. Then played my CD. Nice and smooth, with only a tiny bit of hiss on top.

Definitely the best sounding digital version of this album. Remember to de-emphasize correctly if you rip it to your PC.

The 2009 sounds terrible. I can not even listen to the 2009 because it is tooo loud and hurts my ears.
