I have the Dylan and Elvis complete albums collection boxes, and they are great. For the wealth of material (in terms of the number of albums,) it's packaged very well.

After some thinking, I think that Eric Clapton's studio discography should have the same treatment.

(This is assuming the Eric Clapton team gets permission from other members/estates of his past groups to use their albums in this set - Yardbirds, Cream)
Here is how I would plan the box out (only studio releases, I may plan out a live box later on)

    Thoughts?

    -------------------------------------------------------------------------
    Five Live Yardbirds (YARDBIRDS)
    For Your Love
    Having a Rave Up
Sony Boy Williamson and the Yardbirds
    What's Shakin' (Maybe) (POWERHOUSE)
Blues Breakers with Eric Clapton (JOHN MAYALL/BLUESBREAKERS)
    Fresh Cream (CREAM)
    Disraeli Gears
    Wheels of Fire
    Goodbye
    Blind Faith (BLIND FAITH)
Layla and other Assorted Love Songs (DEREK/DOMINOS)
    Eric Clapton (SOLO)
    461 Ocean Boulevard
    There's One in Every Crowd
    No Reason to Cry
    Slowhand
    Backless
    Another Ticket
    Money and Cigarettes
    Behind the un
    August
    Journeyman
    From the Cradle
    Pilgrim
    Reptile
Me and Mr. Johnson & Sessions (2 album set)
    Back Home
    Clapton
    Old Sock
    I Still Do

31 Albums (if my counting is correct)
Each album would be remastered (except for Clapton, Old Sock and I Still Do) and potentially remixed if needed. Each CD would be packaged similarly to the Old Sock digipack and albums would be original Replicas. (Imagine getting the Back Home original album reissued, the gatefold is absolutely amazing.)

I can't think of any box sets with that amount of discs off the top of my head. Would certainly cost a pretty penny!

As you said it would be an absolute rights nightmare to get off the ground and I think a lot of potential buyers would be put off by both the cost and duplication of what they already own.

Grouping into decades might make it more cost effective. Solo albums released over 70s/80s/90/00s/10s.
