Doesn't piss me off, it's just disappointing that someone would feel o.k. trashing records by playing them on something like this.

Could save a lot of trouble by putting copious amounts of wood glue all around the edges of the lid . . . then closing it.

Lots of people come here looking for turntable recommendation. PERSONAL STATEMENT: I'm not giving mine on this record player.

I love mine. The only mod I did was add some lead weight to the back of the arm to lower the tracking for a bit! It's a well designed record player. The sound is really well balanced for one of these.

............ Gort reads thread title. Reaches for the Ban Member button. Hesitates because recognizes the thread starter is a cool member. Gets confused. Goes for an ice cream instead....

You can improve speed stability if you add a nice record weight! A very stable 22 rpm is so much better than an eccentric wavering 35 rpm, trust me

I got one for a gift and use it for 78's and to spin records for cleaning with a brush. I think 78's sound more "period" on it out of the little speaker and I don't care if the records get hurt. I'll probably play them once or twice and then onto the shelf ...

One of these days when I am old and bored, I'll mod one of these by installing an old Garrard small platter record changer with a short spindle, upgrade to a 2 gram magnetic Shure, a custom built (by me) tube magnetic cart pre-amp, install, a 50C5 tube amp with a silicone rectifier, upgrade the speakers, and upgrade the volume and tone to CTS pots. This will be the world's first high fidelity "Crosley", oh! and of course a "high fidelity" decal stuck on below the "Crosley" name. Maybe I'll sell it on ebay?

Little known fact: Crosley is the Klingon word YELSORC spelled backward.

Replace the spindle with a longer one, stand it on it's side and use it to spiral cut hams. Perfect for those holiday meals.

Kinda makes me want to buy one, make a bunch of YouTube videos of it spinning Beatles records and posting them all here. Just for laughs. :goodie:
