    Steve,
Any tales or memories about an MCA LP you compiled of Ellington Rarities (Brunswick) around 1983? Credits say KG mastered it.
Also, played the Queen's Suite the other day. Exquisite.
    Thanks!

You are absolutely correct! I bought the DIDP 20006 release of "Boston" and it is significantly better than the Japan for USA release. Thanks!!

    Steve,
I seem to remember you were involved with a music newsletter or magazine, maybe in the mid-90's. If I'm not imagining this, how long did that last?

    Thanks

Does anyone know the peak levels of the Boston - DIDP 20006 CD? I wonder if they are the same as the 25 8P.

Performance-wise it's understandable but how about the sound?

@Steve Hoffman - do you intend on starting another audiophile label to issue SACD and LP remasters again?

They have been deleted. Both of the Japanese pressings actually had "Japan" in the titles. The year on one of them was 1989. Here is what you get now when you search for Boston/Boston:

Here is the remaining "DIDP 20006" entry: (there were 2 earlier)

Mr Hoffman, what have you mastered that was a direct transfer with little or no EQ or compression required?

    Thanks for this thread
