Amazing song from the album Front line assembly- millennium , great combination of the Fantastic electro-industrial band F.L.A together with the vocalist of the canadian Rap band P.O.W.E.R. A few years ago after listening to the track I bought P.O.W.E.R -Dedicated To World Revolution cd ( their only full cd 1994) , it's really a great cd . http://www.discogs.com/POWER-Dedicated-To-World-Revolution/master/159223 Since it is impossible to attach two songs in one post then I will upload a track from P.O.W.E.R -Dedicated To World Revolution in a separate response.
Thanks Noomi! I always liked how Leeb/Fulber with their projects showcased little known Canadian artists/vocalists, I'll have to check out Power
This is the first and the last time F.L.A were involved in a rap track and they did an awesome job , those electronic sounds and the guitar samples with the powerful and the emotional vocals of P.O.W.E.R vocalist create a mesmerizing track
Nephlim Modulation Systems āā Woe To Thee O Land Whose King Is 2003 Big Dada Records a project from Big Jus ( Company Flow ) Very dark rap Nephlim Modulation Systems / Fendi Shoe Bomber
Victim of a criminal and Faith are the only songs that I like from Millennium , I was quite disappointed from the music style in this album after Tactical Neural Implant that was an electro -Ebm masterpiece. The volume of the guitar in the mix on Millennium was to high and too dominates to my taste.
'This Faith' is beautiful , I think it may be FLA's most sampled album, quite a few movie lines in it
I'm not familiar with the sub-genre 'industrial hip hop', but when I heard the phrase I thought it made sense that El-P might be in that category because of the 'machine-like', robotic, noise-esque sound of many of his beats. I could also see why the music on Yeezus might be said to have an 'industrial' influence...? So what's the definition of industrial hip hop then, roughly? By the way: For those who don't know, I wanted to second @mantis4tons in saying that Company Flow's "Funcusher Plus" and Cannibal Ox's "The Cold Vein" are fantastic, classic examples of El-P's production work.
Think you're right about EL-P. I think its more the production. The dark machine type noises making it feel edging and grimy. I guess it sounds kind of dystopian and sinister at times. Hes also worked with Trent Reznor from NiN on a track. Yeezus had some industrial influences. Also some of Public Enemy's and Dalek's stuff.
Also this massive Attack track. Its got the rapping but parts of the production are trip hip merged with a sinister industrial sound.
