Came across this searching for receivers. I have an Onkyo C7030 cd player already. I was thinking the Integra would replace my Marantz SR4021 so I could use the RI remote control link between the two.

Isn't Integra supposed to be a bit better quality than the Onkyo version? It looks to be the same as an Onkyo TX-8555 with extra stuff for install integration.

Wondering how good the phono section and amp are?

Do you mean DTR, not DTN (or M)?

Integra used to be an elevated series above regular Onkyo, these days it is - as you said - sold by integrators rather than at retail, and optimized for custom installation. I own a DTR-6.6, and I think it's phono section is pretty decent, although I wouldn't count on much difference in sound between it and the equivalent Onkyo.

The TX-8555 is a stereo receiver, and not directly comparable at all.

    Happy trails,
    Larry B.
