interesting Rolling Stones (or Keith solo) DEMOS with Keith Richards on lead vocals??

This thread is NOT about discussing where to find said recordings; this is NOT a Bootleg discussion thread. Take that discussion elsewhere (off-board); please don't get this shut down.

That said, surely there are some fairly interesting demos with Keith on lead vocals floating around.

I'm a HUGE fan of "Talk is Cheap" -- any demos from that album floating around?? Or any other "Keith Demos"?? Also, do any of the "Talk is Cheap" songs date back to session(s) for some previous Rolling Stones album(s)??

NOTE: Any links in this thread better ONLY be to Youtube vids or other 'streamable' sources (and NOT anything 'downloadable') -- lest we get this shut down.

If you were putting together an interesting "Keith on Lead Vocals" compilation CD, and were wanting to include two or three rarities of the 'demo' variety -- what would you most wish were released to facilitate creating said comp?

Here's a couple to get us started...

Deep Love (from the Dirty Work sessions, supposedly)

You're Too Much (from the Undercover sessions, thought the video says Dirty Work - not really sure which is right)

Well, we all know about the guide vocal version of "Gimme Shelter" that Keith did for Mick.

This is supposedly an outtake from the "Talk is Cheap" sessions. (Didn't know this one at all until I just found it on Youtube.)

There are Talk Is Cheap alternate takes in existence of several songs, including "Almost Hear You Sigh" which Keef saved for "Steel Wheels" with the Stones. There's is also a version of "Voodoo Lounge" in existence where Keith takes all the lead vocals. From those sessions there's also an entire CD of Keith fooling around on acoustic guitar singing everything from "Cocaine" to the Beatles' "Please Please Me." I believe all of these are on youtube in some form.

    This makes a nice mix:

    Whole Lotta Shakin' Goin' On
    Worried Life Blues
    Soul Survivor (Alternate Take)
    We Had It All
    Cocaine Blues
    Blue Monday
    Sing Me Back Home
    Key To The Highway
    The Nearness Of You
    Apartment No.9
    Say It's Not You

  7. I've always enjoyed Keith's vocal on the demo of 'Dandelion' (which at the time had the working title 'Sometimes Happy Sometimes Blue'):

Very rough but a nice alternate to the finished track.

I honestly cannot see myself ever listening to this again after he is gone.

Some absolutely horrible fidelity on this (fair warning), but I think there are some sublime moments to be heard here.

Not all that interesting for the vocals (which sound like a mix of Keith and Mick), but very cool to hear such a stripped down version of this particular tune -- especially a few of Keith's alternate vocal lines, and guitar work...

Thanks for that, i'd never heard it before. I remember reading that Keith was the primary author of Ruby Tuesday as well -- has that demo ever been heard?

Another Voodoo outtake, from what I can tell -- and a nice one at that!

The keyboards remind me a bit of Bernie Worrell at times (he's played with Keith and vice versa, on at least 3 or 4 tunes that I can think of).

TALK IS CHEAP is awesome and I hope Keith's upcoming album has the adventurous spirit that album has.
