I just hope the theaters can remember how to play film prints on projectors... :sigh:

Looking forward to the movie, which has gotten really good advance reviews.

That is a cool poster. Simple, yet powerful.

I'm not all that excited by what I've seen of it, but the combo of Nolan + real IMAX = Oatsdad at a Smithsonian theater in November! :)

Have you seen the second trailor that shows space footage? That is what got me excited.

  7. I think it sounds promising and based on the trailers looks interesting. Even if Nolan can't pull it off as a great film, i have to admire him for tackling a film like this AND putting in theaters that still use actual film projectors for the early debut. Don't know how many of them there are in my area but still...

No, and I don't really want to see it. If I KNOW I'm going to see a movie, I'd prefer to avoid all trailers/ads/discussions - I like to go into the movies with as little pre-information as possible.

I'll probably see the new trailer but I won't look for it! :)

I've only seen that trailer once, and it was in the theater, so I think you won't have much trouble avoiding it until close to release date.

I have to say, this could be a spectacular experience. I'm really looking forward to seeing it, too. Beautiful trailer, just stunning images:

    Loved seeing the trailer...

We have Cinemark XD which is close to IMAX near me. Hope they show it early.

The Alamo Drafthouse and Cinema in Denver is proudly showing it on 35mm film. I wouldn't doubt that these dedicated movies geeks know how to properly project film. Wish I could go. :sigh:

The UA IMAX on Colorado Blvd in Denver was my favorite IMAX venue for years, but they have converted to the digital projection system. I doubt they're still set up for film projection. Sad.

EDIT: I'm wrong about 70mm at the Denver IMAX! Woot!

I bet that'll be a huge experience at the Chinese. I actually haven't been there since the Imax installation, so maybe I'll go a late show a few days into the run.

Apparently it's going to show in 70mm at the Odeon Leicester Square here - awesome! Will also catch the IMAX presentation which will presumably be shown too.

Which should look and sound better IMAX or 70mm?
    Oh! No 3D?

I am sure Vidiot will be along to correct me if I am wrong, but I would say IMAX. However, seeing a 70mm presentation these days is not a common experience.

so, is it confirmed thare's no 3D for Interstellar? Well that means I am going to save some euros and enjoy it in regular, glorious 2D :)

I seen Rise Of The Planet Of The Apes at a IMAX they had a 3D version in a smaller screen. Edge Of Tomorrow was better IMAX than Rise. But not a godhead experience either.
