    There's probably ten copies here in Nashville for less than $10 each. Most are in decent if not excellent shape.

    What a schmuck!

    I have an old toaster that Good Housekeeping says used to brown toast quite nicely. As a special deal to Forum members, you can have it for only $499...

    That Good Housekeeping article caused a lot of consternation in record collecting circles.

    First, some background:

    For a long time, the top record dealers and collectors assumed that in 100 percent of the cases where a copy of Introducing the Beatles --
    A. had the titles on the back cover;
    B. had a "Stereophonic" banner across the top front; and
    C. contained "Love Me Do" and "P.S. I Love You" --
    you had a counterfeit copy that was readily available in bargain bins for $5 or less.

    Then, one legitimate copy showed up, and a Beatles collector/dealer paid the equivalent of $25,000 in trade for it. Since that time, another dozen or so legitimate copies have appeared, so the price has plummeted to a mere $8,000 or so.

    The problem, of course, is all those counterfeits. I used to get calls all the time about Introducing the Beatles, but now that almost every book I put out that contains Beatles LPs has an explanation of how to tell the real thing from a fake, the calls have dropped off. Even so, there are still idiots out there. Do some of these people think "eBay" is an acronym for "Every Buyer A Yahoo"?

    thanks for the explanation, tim. (now I understand why the seller just listed those two tracks - I forgot about that variation on this LP)
