Is 5 bucks for a used SACD hybrid of Blood on the Tracks a good deal ?

Saw a few new Sony SACDs at Newbury Comics in Cambridge just yesterday (Freewheelin', Highway 61 Revisited, JWH, Love and Theft).

I hear you. Since Tower went T.U., and Silver Platters stopped attempting to stock SACDs, I had no choice but to embrace the online retailers. Its a shame because I really used to enjoy spending an afternoon every couple of weeks at one of the local record stores.

Great idea for an insanely hyperspecific thread!

Sonny, I remember the good old record days spending hours on University Way at all of the stores back then
Peaches, Tower, Cellophane Square, Campus Music Gallery, Golden Oldies, and a couple of others I can't remember.
Plus the stereo shops on Roosevelt sold records as well.
    Sigh

I'd say $5 is worth, if for no other reason that it's a fantastic album. If you don't like the EQ, adjust it in a good DSP program. Experiment with both linear and non-linear phase (e.g. minimum phase) tools to see which one works best for your case.

I guess I gotta ask the OP, do you agonize this much every time you're faced with a $5 purchase?
What happens when you fill your gas tank, buy the $5 dollar foot long at Subway, order a latte at Starbucks?
You better hope I'm not behind you in line.
You're not buying a house for christssakes, much less a 1/4 pound super-sizer at McDonalds. :magoo:

The hate in this thread is awesome. God forbid someone should ask a simple %%%%ing question about a pressing he couldn't find any info or pricing online.

As do I. I was merely referring to the last 20 years where the field had begun to thin considerably from what it once was.

Peaches, Cellophane Square, Bud's Jazz, 5th Avenue, Budget, Tower, etc, etc, etc... That really brings back some memories. But since you apparently think that I'm such a young-un, should I call you gramps?

Any copy of Blood on the Tracks is worth far more than $5.00.

How much you can sell it for is of course a different question.

I got my LP for nothing, by being runner-up in a competition run by the local paper!

Yes, it's a good deal. That's about what I paid for mine, a few years ago. And I haven't seen this one in the bins since.
