Is it worth upgrading DAC for NAD C 542?

    Greetings:

    I have a NAD C 542 CD player, and I'm reasonably pleased with it. It does have digital out port if I wanted to use a different DAC.

    Has anyone tried doing that with the NAD, or is the DAC in the unit pretty good as is? When it came out some years back, it got lotsa good press for having a Burr-Brown Sigma-Delta 24 bit Digital to Analogue Converter; are outboard DACs appreciably better?
