What a wonderful flick this is. I've loved it since I was a kid. As a plus the professor from Gilligan's Island is in it!

It Came from Outer Space is a 1953 American black-and-white science fiction film based on Ray Bradbury's original short story The Meteor.

The film, the first in the 3-D process from Universal Pictures, was produced by William Alland, directed by Jack Arnold, and starred Richard Carlson, Barbara Rush.

The film tells the story of an astronomer and his fiancee who are stargazing in the desert when a large fiery object crashes to Earth. At the crash site, he discovers an alien spacecraft just before it is completely buried by a landslide. When he tells this story to the local sheriff and newspaper, he is branded a crackpot. Before long, strange things begin to happen, and the tide of disbelief turns hostile.

You sure that one still is from It Came for Outer Space? I thought that was from one of the Quartermass films.

  5. I still enjoy this film. Although it was sold as a BEM (big eyed monster) movie, it's a well made science fiction thriller based on a terrific Ray Bradbury story.

It is a fun film. If Universal or someone else (Olive perhaps?) would release a legitimate copy of the 3-D print of it on Blu-ray. Heck, while they're at it they could even do a 3-D Blu-ray for Revenge of the Creature. If that ever happened, I'd be a happy camper.
