It's a Man's Man's Man's Man's movie: The ultimate un-chick flicks

Here are some of my favorites:

Ice Station Zebra -- Nary a pretty head or love story in sight.
Master and Commander -- Ahoy there, buoys. Surf, spray, and canon fire. A man's man movie, for sure.
Lawrence of Arabia -- You can count the number of women on one camel's hoof.
The Great Escape -- 76 He-men and not a horny one among them.
The Naked Prey -- Despite "naked" being in the title, and Cornel Wilde's perfect physique, it's thrills, danger, spears and snakes all the way.

Platoon is another one, unless you count the bromance between Charlie Sheen, Tom Berenger and Willem DeFoe.

Anything with a lot of killing and explosions that does not star George Clooney, Jon Hamm, or Matt Damon. The list is endless.

Willem Dafoe had a look like you could drop the "b" from bromance.

The beginning makes it very clear this is for men. A great shiny muscle car drives up into a parking lot. Camera waits for the door to open. Very slowly, a perfect pair of legs slides out in spike heels. Then we see the blonde driver (stunning of course) in a skin tight dress, as she walks slowly into the bar. She's never seen again. But now all the men in the theater were very happy.

Isn't Ice Station Zebra the movie that Howard Hughes watched like 1000 times while he was locked up in his room?

Three of my favorite movies - as in, even though I have seen them 1000X I will watch them again:
Kelly's Heroes (I already mentioned) - a couple girls in back ground but not one word spoken by a women.
Monty Python & Holy Grail - If you find a girl who likes Monty Python - marry her
The Godfather - no explanation necessary.

An ex-girlfriend of mine claimed that "Caddyshack" was the definitive "guys movie", I guess because every guy she met liked it.

Not sure it really qualifies as an "un-chick flick" - it has some softer/romantic elements - but I thought I'd throw her claim out there anyway! :D

Gone in 60 Seconds (the original).

The acting looks like the clean parts of porno movies, the sets look like garbage but the last half of the movie is an epic car chase (with actual driving, way before CGI).

  22. Fight Club. In both its theme and presentation, and there being only one female role, it's not a film for the ladies.

On the other hand, lots of shirtless Brad Pitt, so don't rule out the female interest totally! :D
