Has anyone mentioned "Henry: Portrait of a Serial Killer" yet?....I cannot think of any female (regardless of age) who would want to sit through that one.

I had a female coworker and all she could talk about was this movie. She even lent it to me and was offended when I didn't watch it.

Haven't you heard the rule? If it has Brad Pitt, chicks dig it.

    I'll extend this to:

Charlie Chaplin, Laurel & Hardy, Martin & Lewis.
The three Stooges and The Marx Brothers..... (women just don't get humour and comedy brilliance)

I guess I'm fortunate as wife likes many of the listed movies but I will add these

The Sorcerer with Roy Schneider. A grueling truck trip over awful mountain roads to deliver nitro to a construction site in the South American wilderness. Loved it!

The Way Back. True story about 6 prisoners in a Siberian prison camp escaping and enduring incredible hardships on their thousand(?) mile trek to freedom

    Machete with Danny Trejo

I don't want to give away any spoilers but a friend and I watched it .

There is one quick scene so over the top
and outrageously silly we both almost jumped out of our chairs in shock laughing . Classic! :D

I told the wife this was a must see, but said you have to leave your eyes open during a certain scene.
The bridge started, she got up and walked out of the room. It took me 5-10 minutes to get her back in the room. But she came back eventually and (I think) watched most of the sequence. She didn't have time for an explosion when the explosion happened. The ending took her minute ('wait a minute, that's the--oh no!')

And there's the James Brown song "It's a Man's Man's Man's World" - I guess the OP added a "Man's" to match the 4X "Mad" of the film you cite! :)

That’s it. I love that song and I quite like the movie that I watched by myself because my wife would not enjoy it. I mixed it all up in the deep recesses of my mind.

Thanks for figuring out the twists and turns for me. :)

I watched "Crimson Tide" last night. Right up there in mannish movies, for sure . The funny thing was, at the end of the film, there was a title card intended to make the audience feel safer knowing that a near-disaster like the errant launch of nukes could ever happen again onboard a submarine. For some reason, it just doesn't work, anymore.

Now available for $4.99 blu-ray as part of Amazon's "add-on" program. Get it before it vanishes to a higher price . . .

A mind-numbing brilliant (early) performance by Tom Hardy (deserving of an Oscar) -- I can't imagine any woman sitting through this . . . if you are sitting next to one who giggles during this movie, run like hell before the movie is over . . . and consider yourself lucky to be alive.

Fully agree!! I got a DVD (includes the one where they are attempting to be chimney sweeps) and me and my son (must have been about 5 years old then) were laughing our heads off. My wife just didn't get it at all...
