I tried hitting the 'like' button three times, but it didn't work. Back to the topic of the thread: I think it's a huge wasted opportunity that Propellerheads never followed up Decksanddrumsandrockandroll. (I know that health problems got in the way and then they had both gotten involved in other things by the time they were over.) I've recently bought the Joyriders CD, featuring Will White, as that seems to be the closest thing we'll ever get. I like it. I think that Rog trumped him with ITTLWRW? I'd like to think that Dave was beavering away trying to one-up Rog, but I suspect that Dave is now retired and devoting all of his time to being a crabby old geezer.
Neil Hannon's Duckworth Lewis Method should have enough material by now for a new album. Even court cases this summer. Sticky Wickets was 2013.
I had to go looking for more on this and found a recent interview where Steve says there is another Flying Colors album planned (probably no tour since everyone's got other projects) and even a plan for a new Angelfire album. Great news, if I say so myself.
Would love a third album from Dan Arborise ? 2001 Around in Circles and 2009 Of Tide & Trail are both excellent albums. Linn records even sold the hires versions when hires was still in its infancy. I still play the quality CDs . Dan seems to have gone off the radar .
My continued dissatisfaction with new releases, with small exceptions, grown to a point that I am now only looking forward to remixes and remastered of the old stuff. Just like in ‘The Glass Bead Game’, where all music stopped at Bach )), 90% of what I listen now is made before 1978, and recent stuff is mostly in modern classical music..
Definitely, that would be great. When I saw Ed a few years ago, he mentioned a new album was in the works.
Can any Stevie Wonder fans fill me in on why his last album was 13 years ago? Did he retire or has he just spent a long time working on another one? Also I'd really like to see a new one from Gregg Alexander. We saw he can still sing when he performed "Lost Stars" from the Begin Again soundtrack a few years ago (after vanishing for over a decade), and he mentioned in interviews that whilst he considered writing songs for other artists to be his main job, he would consider self-releasing his material with his vocals so fans could hear them. That never happened and he remains extraordinarily reclusive, and a wasted talent.
Joanna newsom (just her and her harp) stevie wonder (not sure what to expect but some of the old magic would be nice)
King's X finally announced that they're starting the new album process...we'll see how long it takes. It's been ten years since XV.
