I heard Peter Mew & Bob Norberg were getting together to finalize the remastering the box sets.....

The summer of '69 ain't got nothin' on the summer of '09. We kick it off with "Archives" and a collector's "Woodstock" DVD/Blu-ray and end it with 2 massive Beatles boxes. Holy moly.

So, it looks like you "just" have to buy the two box sets with about 30 CDs to get it all? I guess that means listening to almost nothing else but the Beatles for the rest of the year starting on 09/09/09...
Sounds to me like one of the best musical overkills ever :D!

I said that's what THEY may think. I wasn't arguing their case.

Un-FREAKIN'-believable huh?! Start saving that spare change, cash in your cans and bottles. It won't be easy getting all these goodies, but absolutely essential. Woohoo!! Ron

Have you all looked on the official site yet, love the preview - a bit dissapointed that Past Masters just has the Past Masters 1 cover art!

I agree the bonus material would be a plus. Like the "non laughing" version of the alternate "And Your Bird Can Sing" for one.

..."utilising state of the art recording technology alongside vintage studio equipment"...

I wonder if they used a BTR tape machine for the transfers this time?

This is fantastic news but is it correct that there are no 5.1 mixes? I can't believe they didn't at least do Pepper in 5.1! Wonder if they will eventually release some 5.1 dvd audios, anyone heard anything about surround mixes?

The wait is over. Finally! :goodie:

I still need to buy a few albums to finish my Beatles CD collection:

    With The Beatles
    Beatles for Sale
    AHDN
    Help!
    MMT

I'll buy them first and then I'll debate if I keep my copies of the rest of them or sell them to buy the remastered versions.

Bearing in mind it's probably been compressed to hell on their website, check out the little snippet of "Hey Jude" at Beatles.com. It has some top to it now! Sounds great!

  23. Still, given the long 22-year wait, I'd say we Beatlemaniacs are in for an embarrassment of riches come September 9th! I am absolutely head-over-heels about this news!:goodie:

I'm watching the video on the Apple website and giggling. I feel like I'm 10.
