It looks like someone should have looked through the rest (albeit very long) thread before making such statements

Unbelievable! It gave me goosebumps, especially when I read about the mono CDs.

So do I. I haven't felt this kind of excitement since "The White Album" was released way back in Nov. '68.

I wouldn't mind the boxes being roll top. I have the LP and CD roll top boxes. The new CDs in matching roll top boxes would look nice in my collection next to them.

Interesting that they are relasing this on a Wed. instead of a Tuesday or Friday. In the U.S. all new relases come out on Tues. In The U.K. they come out on Friday... right?

One thing is for sure: Apple has heard(and read)about what people want. They are giving us what we want. Officially released stereo and mono mixes of every Beatles album. There is some justice in this world after all.

    9/9/09 is a Wednesday.

So they are definately going for the 9 9 9 thing. Must be one worldwide date.

Plus no used cd shop will give you more than 3 bucks or so for them anyway. might as well just keep em.

The only 87 cd's that were really BAD were the first four. I am looking forward to the improvements on the new ones. It will be interesting to see if they outshine Dr Ebbets versions.

Hey Apple, how about a complete U.S. & U.K. Singles compilation?

You think Ebbets has a chance of sounding better than these?
    Have you not heard LOVE?

    Come on guys!

UK music and video releases usually appear on a Monday, although some major releases have been known to appear on other weekdays.

Video game releases are oddly scheduled for Fridays.

This makes all the other new releases like Dylan, Elvis Costello, etc almost meaningless.

If you search on the domestic Amazon page, you'll find two scheduled 2010 SINGLE releases: Help!/I'm Down, and Something/Come Together.
Seems maybe the core catalogue won't be all we get.

Seeing it on Amazon.uk and HMV was very convincing, but I had, like many of us probably did, that little bit of doubt.

    Then seeing it on thebeatles.com.....

I think I'm going to back to bed, get back up, and see if it is all a dream.
