A few years before I discovered this forum, I got one of those top-loading Wave Radio CD players. I reckon from 1999. The radio, clock and alarm still work. Up until last week, the CD player worked. Now it doesn't recognize any compact discs. Tried to reboot it (unplug) but no dice. Of course, the transport must be shot (from what I've learned here on the forums). What a buzz kill. It's been a great little unit. Not worth it to fix, unless someone tells me otherwise. One of it's cool features was the ability to listen to a CD as an alarm wake-up. Unless I see something magical that will make me fork over the dough, am not looking for a replacement (Non-Bose) anytime soon. If/when I cross that bridge, the build quality should be fantastic. Conversely, the few and far between SACD mini-systems we've seen on this forum are way too expensive and not worth the dough.
